1. Introduction

FlashDrive Pro ("we," "our," "us") is a mobile application that turns your phone into a local file server and productivity hub. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our application. Our core principle is simple: your data stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information to any external servers.

The app also offers an optional Pro subscription that unlocks additional features, including Cloud Sharing — a feature that allows you to generate internet-accessible links for your files by temporarily uploading them to our servers. This policy explains exactly what is stored, for how long, and how it is protected when you choose to use these optional features.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

FlashDrive Pro is designed with privacy as a foundational principle. We do NOT collect:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Files, documents, or media you share through the app
  • Browsing history or search queries within the app
  • IP addresses (beyond what is necessary for local network communication)
  • Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to our servers

We have no user accounts, no registration process, and no login system.

Note: If you use the optional Cloud Sharing feature (Pro subscription), files you choose to share are temporarily uploaded to our servers. See Section 8 for details.

3. How FlashDrive Pro Works

The app operates entirely on your local network (Wi-Fi or Personal Hotspot):

  • Files are shared directly between your phone and connected devices on the same network
  • No data is transmitted over the internet
  • No cloud storage is used
  • All communication occurs via local HTTP server running on your device
  • When you stop the server or close the app, all connections are terminated
  • Pro subscribers can optionally use Cloud Sharing to generate internet-accessible links for files. This is the only feature that transmits data beyond your local network.

4. Device Permissions

FlashDrive Pro requests the following permissions, used solely for local functionality:

  • Camera — Required for Live Camera streaming feature. Camera feed is streamed only to devices connected on your local network. No recording or cloud upload occurs.
  • Storage/Files — Required to access files you explicitly choose to share. We only access files you select; we do not scan or index your device storage.
  • Local Network — Required to run the local HTTP server and enable device-to-device communication on your Wi-Fi or hotspot network.

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings.

5. Data Storage

  • App preferences (server port, device name, theme) are stored locally on your device using local storage
  • The list of files you share is stored locally and persists between app sessions
  • No data is stored on external servers
  • Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored preferences

6. Third-Party Services

FlashDrive Pro does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app is distributed through and uses the following third-party services:

The App Store and Google Play may collect information about your purchase and download. We do not have access to this data beyond aggregate, anonymized download counts. RevenueCat receives only anonymous subscription data (no personal identity) to manage Pro entitlements. Cloudflare stores files you explicitly choose to share via the Cloud Sharing feature — see Section 8 for full details.

7. Subscription and Payment Data

FlashDrive Pro offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (Monthly: $4.99/mo, Yearly: $39.99/yr) to unlock Pro features. Subscription management is handled through:

  • RevenueCat — We use RevenueCat as our subscription management platform. RevenueCat processes anonymized subscription data to manage entitlements. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store — All payment processing is handled by Apple or Google. We do not have access to your payment information (credit card numbers, billing address, etc.)

We receive only:

  • An anonymous subscriber ID (not linked to your personal identity)
  • Subscription status (active, expired, cancelled)
  • Subscription type (monthly or yearly)

We do NOT receive your name, email, payment details, or any personally identifiable information through the subscription process.

8. Cloud Sharing

If you use the Cloud Sharing feature (available to Pro subscribers), the following applies:

  • File Uploads — Files you choose to share via Cloud Sharing are uploaded to Cloudflare R2 storage. We do not access, analyze, or view the content of your files.
  • Automatic Expiration — All cloud-shared files are automatically deleted after 7 days. You can also manually delete shared files at any time from the app.
  • File Size Limit — Maximum 5GB per file.
  • Shareable Links — A unique, unguessable URL is generated for each shared file. Anyone with the link can download the file — no account required.
  • Metadata Stored — For each cloud share, we store: file name, file size, upload date, expiration date, and the anonymous subscriber ID. This metadata is deleted when the file expires or is manually removed.
  • No Content Analysis — We do not scan, index, or analyze the content of uploaded files.

9. Children's Privacy

FlashDrive Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we do not collect any personal information from any user, there is no risk of children's data being collected or stored.

10. International Users and GDPR

Since FlashDrive Pro does not collect, process, or store personal data, the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are inherently satisfied. Specifically:

  • No personal data is collected or processed
  • No data is transferred across borders
  • No data controllers or processors are involved beyond your own device
  • There is no data to access, rectify, or delete

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have certain rights regarding personal information. Since FlashDrive Pro does not collect, sell, or share personal information:

  • We do not sell your personal information
  • We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
  • There is no personal information to disclose, delete, or correct

12. Security

We implement the following security measures:

  • Optional PIN protection for server access
  • Local network-only communication (not exposed to the internet)
  • Selective file sharing (only files you explicitly choose are accessible)
  • Path traversal protection to prevent unauthorized file access
  • HTML sanitization to prevent cross-site scripting (XSS)
  • Cloud-shared files are stored on Cloudflare's global network with encryption at rest
  • Shareable links use unguessable random IDs

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
